Blast & security glazing
Laminated glass, frames, and anchors work as one system to absorb blast, impact, or forced-entry energy.
Thicker glass alone is insufficient. A failed frame or pulled anchor can release the entire panel.
Public, financial, and transport buildings specify pressure and fragment performance numerically, often verified by mockup testing.
Requirements commonly conflict with ordinary curtain-wall details and cannot be solved by adding one line to a standard specification.
Security must be coordinated with daily thermal, optical, and architectural performance so that protection does not simply close the facade.
